Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Thursday resolved to reserve 34 per cent of seats in nominated posts to SC, ST, BCs and minorities and give more incentives to women belonging to the marginalised sections by incorporating the required changes in the MSME policy.
The meeting, held here at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu ,decided to withdraw the law made in 2019 for 50 per cent reservation for SC, ST, BC and minorities in nominated posts due to legal issues. A decision was taken for required legislation on AP Knowledge Society Capacity Building. The meeting discussed the ensuing Assembly session.
The meeting discussed the need to bring about changes in the Pattadar Passbook Act and cleared the long pending demand for regularisation of structures which came up in an area of less than 1,000 square yards at Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam city. Structures built in less than 150 square yards will be exempted from penalty and others, different slabs will be announced after changing the required rules.
As a one-time decision, the meeting resolved to allow payment of Rs8 lakh per acre as compensation for lands acquired in two mandals in Tirupati district for the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor.
The ceiling on sanction limit for new works by CRDA has been raised. The Chief Minister directed the Ministers and officials concerned to expedite works on construction of capital city at Amaravati and completion of Polavaram project as per the revised deadlines.
The Cabinet gave its green signal for changes in the MSME and Electric Vehicle Policies so as to increase the benefits to the investors.
For Polavaram project displaced families, it was decided to construct rehabilitation colonies on a priority basis. Information and Public Relations Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy told the media that during the YSRCP rule, there was no initiative to provide a roof to live in to the project displaced people. He said pending bills for the Neeru-Chettu project for the period 2014-19 worth Rs330 crore was sanctioned by the Cabinet.The meeting also cleared the proposal to increase the additional excise duty on IMFL.
